Fall is a wonderful time of the year! The crispness of the air as the leaves turn into vibrant colors cannot be matched unless you compare it to the green of spring. And just like spring there are certain chores that need to be done in order to be ready for old man winter that lurks right around the corner.
The obvious ones are cleaning up the garden and clearing out the annuals as well as raking up the leaves. Of course all this should go into a composting area of some kind so you can work it back into your soil next year. The not so obvious is getting the pipes winterized and ready, sealing up those doors and windows and making sure you have shovels or salt to clear off any snow or ice. While you may think it’s too early for these kinds of actions, it’s not. Do it now, before the cold sets in as there is nothing more miserable than trying to wrap pipes in freezing weather!
