Guys do a lot of things for their wives and girlfriends and they do them gladly.  However, when it comes to their space, guys tend to pick out a few places to make their own.

No guy has ever really bragged to me about the renovated kitchen or bathroom; but, the basement, the garage, the shed out back or the outdoor kitchen; now that I have heard about.  This is not to say that guys don’t appreciate the kitchen, the bathroom or other spaces around the house.  There is just a certain allure to those spaces known as guy spaces.

I will admit that most guys seem to like rustic and made of wood spaces with good outlets or windows to the outdoors.  Maybe this is why guys gravitate to garages, sheds or attics with open balconies to make their own.

The other thing guys who are also collectors like are period themes in their spaces.  If you collect Native American relics you want your collection to feel at home in its surroundings.  Same with nautical or Civil War themes; it’s all about what you love.
